Miniature, High-Temperature Hook Up & Lead Wire

Ultra-High Temperature

300-1000ºC+ working temperatures depending on construction, working environment, lifetimes, etc.

Small Diameters

Up to 0.25 mm or 0.01 inches, for applications requiring low-profiles

Lightweight

The minimal yet robust construction allows for a far lighter wire than comparable MICA tape or Fiberglass Insulated lead wires

Material Construction

Composite Insulation

1) Fiberglass/ quartz fiber sleeve 2) Extruded SiO2 insulation

3rd Layer of insulation, to improve the insulation performance between inner conductor and stainless steel jacket

Fiberglass or Quartz fiber sleeve

A very thin layer (0.05mm/ 0.002 inches) of braided material which serves as a second layer of insulation and additional protection for the ceramic layer.

Ceramic-Coated conductor

Conducting material (nickel-plated copper, pure nickel, pure silver, pure copper, and other alloys) coated with the same ceramic used in our high-temperature ceramic-coated wire, giving the wire excellent high temperature insulation performance

Stainless Steel Jacket (OPTIONAL)

A stainless steel (0.1 mm/ 0.04 inches) jacket which protects the inside components from abrasion, impacts, moisture, and other outside forces.

Construction Description
The hook up and lead wire is composed of the below elements:
  • Center Conductor(s) with ceramic insulation
Conductor Materials:
Nickel-Plated Copper (Up to 600ºC long term, 1000ºC short term use)
Pure Nickel (Up to 800ºC long term, 1000ºC+ short term use)
Pure Silver (Up to 500ºC long term)
Configurations:
Single Conductor, Twin, Triaxial, Twisted Pair, Etc.
  • Composite Insulation of Extruded SiO2 or a fiberglass/quartz fiber sleeve
  • Fiberglass or Quartz fiber sleeve
  • Stainless Steel Outer Jacket (Optional)
T-Axel Lead Wire Compared to Alternatives

Working temperatures are similar across T-Axel's hook up and lead wire and mica tape/ fiberglass braided wire. The primary difference are listed below.

T-Axel's hook up and lead wire -

  • Is more specialized towards extremely low-profile and lightweight requirements. Traditional mica tape and fiberglass braided lead wires cannot achieve this size.

  • has higher voltage withstand relative to the small wire diameter

  • are more suited in specialized applications such as in aerospace, nuclear, satellites, ect. rather than commercial applications.

  • will be more reliable and have a longer operating lifetime than mica tape/fiberglass braid lead wires

  • If using the stainless steel outer jacket, will be better protected from environmental factors such as moisture and will allow it to withstand high vibration levels, impact shock, and can provide higher tensile strength.
